Bushmen, the oldest people on Earth, are dying from addictions. Without intervention,
they will go extinct. Forcibly removed from their lands, they now live on lands with no
water. Their schools are shut down. Liquor stores in their communities often sell liquor
for less than water. In May of 2016, WISN brings the first culture-based training program
to the Kalahari. The program integrates Western and Indigenous cultural practices.
Sixteen brave souls complete this training to support their communities’ healing. The
next phase is to bring culture-based Mobile Addictions Treatment.
